This smoothie bowl only has 4 ingredients!! The catch is you have to follow my instructions very very carefully. In order to make this something you eat with a spoon (and not sip with a straw), you need to freeze your bananas beforehand. Or buy them already frozen. It is ESSENTIAL to get a thicker smoother consistency. Also my Blendtec dances across the countertops (think “Good Vibrations” by the Beach Boys) when I make this because the liquid is so dense. But that’s exactly how I want it and my Blendtec is one of my favorite kitchen tools. If not my absolute favorite kitchen tool. I’ve had mine for over 5 years and I use it every day. Every. Day. It’s more precious to me than my beautiful set of All Clad pots and pans. Which is seriously saying something because it took me over a year to even unbox my pots and pans for fear of ruining them.
Anyways I think there’s something more exciting about a smoothie bowl than just a regular old smoothie. Maybe it’s because you can add toppings? Regardless this is a staple recipe in my house and because it’s so easily customizable, I’m sure it will become one if yours too.
